Brantford Red Sox Re-Sign Doug Parks

The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, are happy to announce that Doug Parks will be returning for the 2020 season!

Parks, a native of Lakeville, MN, joined the Red Sox midway through the 2019 season.  Parks quickly made an impression, swatting home runs in each of his first two games with the Sox.  He finished up the 2019 regular season with a .254/.811/.441 slash line.

Parks is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where he was a standout player on the EIU Panthers baseball team.  In 2017, Parks was named the MVP of the summer collegiate Prospect League where he led the league in RBIs, hits, extra-base hits and on-base percentage. Parks has also played with the Southern Illinois Miners in the Frontier League.

Brantford Field Manager Matt McGovern notes that "Doug was a great team player for Brantford last summer, and we are extremely happy to have him back in a Red Sox uniform.  He plays the game with respect and dedication, and the numbers he put up in college speak for themselves!"   McGovern adds that "Doug's work ethic is incredible, his defensive play is top notch, and I know that he will have a great year at the plate as well".

On behalf of the Brantford Red Sox organization and its fans, welcome back Dougie!
