Brantford Falls to London After 6 Shutout Innings
The London Majors went into Wednesday night's game in Brantford having scored 28 combined runs in their first 2 games, so the Red Sox knew they had their work cut out for them in keeping their opponents off the scoreboard.
Brantford succeeded in this unenviable task through 6 innings, taking a 1-0 lead over London into the 7th inning. Unfortunately the Majors found their bats and capitalized on an error and a hit by pitch to score 5, eventually going on to a 7-2 victory.
Brantford starter Bennett Moore was solid through 6 innings pitched in his first start for the Sox, striking out 6 and surrendering zero runs on 3 hits. Mike Deluca went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the loss. Ricky Murray drove in the other Brantford run.
Brantford's next game is Thursday on the road visiting the Welland Jackfish, before returning home for games on Friday at 8 pm hosting the Barrie Baycats, and then a Sunday afternoon matinee hosting the Hamilton Cardinals at 2 pm. Home games are at Arnold Anderson Stadium in Brantford, for advance tickets visit brantfordredsox.com/tickets
