Brantford Jr. Red Sox Win Provincials

BRANTFORD - Congratulations to the Brantford Jr. Red Sox, who won the Ontario Baseball Association 22U A Provincial Championship this past weekend!

The Jr. Red Sox went undefeated during  the tournament, outscoring their opponents by a cumulative score of 57-15:

  • Game 1 vs. Kanata Cubs, won 8-2
  • Game 2 vs. Listowel Legionnaires, won 12-1
  • Game 3 vs. Simcoe Giants, won 5-4
  • Semifinals vs. North York Blues, won 24-7
  • Finals vs. Kanata Cubs, won 8-1

The Jr. Red Sox are managed by Ken Lupton, and many of the players from the Jr. team have also played with the IBL Red Sox during this past season.

Established in 1911, the Brantford Red Sox have been an institution in the Southwestern Ontario community for over a century. The Brantford Red Sox are the most historically decorated active team in the Intercounty Baseball League, appearing in 27 finals and winning 15 IBL championships.
