Brantford Red Sox Announce 2021 Schedule

The Brantford Red Sox are happy to announce our tentative 2021 Intercounty Baseball League schedule. The Intercounty Baseball League is one of the longest running baseball leagues in the world, with the upcoming season marking the IBL's 102nd. Last year, the season was cancelled for the first time in league history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

This year's schedule features 30 regular season games, with the start being pushed into July due to provincial restrictions, and lasting until early September. The league has yet to announce this year's playoff format.  Also this year, the Intercounty Baseball League will have only seven teams, with the Guelph Royals opting to sit out the 2021 season. 

Highlights of our 2021 schedule include:

• Brantford's home opener is Friday July 9, hosting the Welland Jackfish
• Home schedule features 15 games with a mix of Wednesday (six) and Friday (seven) evening games primarily, and weekend day games (two)
• Longest homestand of the season is four-games from August 11th to 18th
• Brantford's final home game of the regular season is Wednesday September 1 hosting Toronto
• Brantford's regular-season schedule wraps up on Sunday September 5 at the Toronto Maple Leafs

All home games are played at Arnold Anderson Stadium.  Stadium capacity will initially be limited to 25% under Step 2 of Ontario's reopening plan.  Social distancing measures will be in place and certain seats/sections will be unavailable. All food and drink must be consumed in a seat. Although not mandatory masks are strongly encouraged.  Tickets and season passes are now available through our online partner SeatGiant, and will also be available at the gate on game days (subject to availability).  Season Pass holders: please note that your IBL Road Pass for admission to away games will not be valid during Step 2 of Ontario’s reopening due to capacity restrictions at the league’s ballparks.
