BRANTFORD, ON – The Brantford Red Sox, proud members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL), are excited to announce the signing of catcher Noah Roberts (Cambridge, ON).
Roberts is currently a senior at Georgia Southwestern, where he posted a strong 2024 season, hitting .320 (56-for-175) with 10 doubles, 3 home runs, and 36 RBIs. Prior to his time at Georgia Southwestern, he spent two seasons at Arizona Western College, appearing in 87 games and recording a .286 batting average (79-for-276) with 13 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs, and 56 RBIs.
Roberts also brings IBL experience, having played for the Guelph Royals in 2022 and 2023. Over those two seasons, he compiled a .250 career average (38-for-152) with 11 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, and 24 RBIs.
Brantford Red Sox General Manager Jeff Lounsbury expressed his excitement about the signing:
"Bringing in a player like Roberts is exactly what our club needs." He has IBL experience, he's hungry for the opportunity, and I believe he will form a great 1-2 punch behind the plate. His bat will also be an asset, allowing him to contribute as a designated hitter or in another position, adding depth and flexibility to our lineup."
Roberts is eager to join the Red Sox and embrace the opportunity:
"Brantford is a great sports town with an incredible history, and I’m excited to put on the Red Sox uniform this season."
