Brantford Red Sox Sign Adam Jafine
The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, are proud to announce the signing of Adam Jafine for the upcoming 2021 season.
Adam is a 25 year old left handed pitcher from Toronto, Ontario. He previously played for Team Ontario (2011 National Champions), and the Canadian Junior National Team (2012-2013). He threw a no-hitter against the Ottawa Canadians 18U team on May 12, 2013.
Adam began his college baseball career at Northern Kentucky University (NCAA Division I), then moving on to the University of Charleston (NCAA Division II). He was named MEC pitcher of the week in February 2017. In addition to his achievements with the UC Golden Eagles baseball team, Adam was also named to the Dean's List, was a Provost's Award winner, and was also a MEC Scholar-Athlete award finalist. He posted overall college career pitching stats of: 5.13 ERA, 249.1 IP, 228 Ks.
"Adam came highly recommended to us by his UC teammate Gianfranco Morello" notes Brantford Field Manager Matt McGovern. "I trust Gio’s judgment greatly, he says Adam can pitch in this league and I believe him 100%. Adam gives us another left-handed option to utilize either as a starter or a reliever. We're excited to have him be a part of our organization and we are going to give him every opportunity to prove himself at the IBL level." McGovern adds "We’d like to thank Gio for the recommendation, and we can’t wait to get going this summer and play meaningful ball in front of our great fans!"
"I'm excited to be part of the culture that Matt has created with the Red Sox" says Adam. "This summer will be exciting and I can't wait for the opportunity to bring a championship to Brantford!"
On behalf of the Red Sox organization and its fans, welcome to Brantford Adam!
