Countdown to the 2022 Season

BRANTFORD - It is less than one month until Brantford Red Sox baseball returns!  Here are some details on our 2022 Intercounty Baseball League season which kicks off May 19. 

Season

In case you missed it, the Intercounty Baseball League season has been supersized for 2022! Each team will play an expanded 42-game schedule (up from the league's traditional 36), with 21 games at home and 21 on the road. The 2022 schedule is balanced, with each team playing the others 6 times in total. The league is back up to a full compliment of 8 teams as we welcome back the Guelph Royals, who return to the IBL after pausing operations last year.

The 2022 Brantford Red Sox regular season commences on Thursday May 19 in Welland. The next night, Friday May 20, Brantford hosts its 2022 Home Opener against the Hamilton Cardinals.

Brantford Red Sox games take place at Arnold Anderson Stadium at Cockshutt Park in Brantford. Games are easily accessible in the City of Brantford and Brant County, and are also within a half-hour's drive from many locations in Southwestern Ontario including Caledonia, Hagersville, Simcoe, and Woodstock.

Last season the Brantford Red Sox reached the IBL semifinals last season for the first time since 2017. With the majority of the team's young core returning for 2022 we look forward to building on our success and pursuing our 16th IBL Championship! 

Events

The Brantford Red Sox will be hosting some great happenings at the ballpark this season! Fun activities are planned for the kids on our Sunday afternoon games. Brantford Minor Baseball and Brantford Minor Softball will be enjoying a special day with the Sox. Events supporting our First Responders, Brant Community Healthcare System, and Brant County SPCA are all in planning. And of course popular themed games such as 80's Night and Country Night will be returning. Our Canada Day game tradition also continues, as we once again host the Hamilton Cardinals on our country's birthday.

Tickets

With the expanded season length, Brantford Red Sox season passes are a better value than ever! Physical passes can be purchased in person at Brant Sports Excellence at 415 Fairview Drive in Brantford. Digital passes can also be purchased online through our partner SeatGiant. Season passes also include a free IBL Road Pass, good for admission for all Brantford Red Sox away games.

6 game flex packs, and single game tickets are also available online. And single game tickets will continue to be available at the gate at Arnold Anderson Stadium each game day. We now accept both cash and debit/credit card payments at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
