Olympian Erika Polidori To Throw Out First Pitch

by Brantford Red Sox staff

The Brantford Red Sox are proud to announce that Olympian and Brantford's own Erika Polidori will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Friday August 27th before our game vs. the Hamilton Cardinals.

Erika is a member of Team Canada that recently won the bronze medal in softball at the Tokyo Olympics. This was Canada's first ever medal in softball at the Olympic Games.

From olympic.ca: Erika Polidori wanted to play for Team Canada since attending the 2008 Canada Cup with her summer team the Brantford Bobcats. She joined the Junior Women’s National Team in 2010 when she competed in the Futures Division of the Canada Cup, the WBSC Americas Qualifier and went on to represent Canada at the 2011 WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship. She made the senior team in 2013, competing in the World Cup of Softball and the WBSC Americas Qualifier. In 2014, she competed in her first WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship. She was also part of the national team at the 2016 and 2018 Worlds, where she helped Canada take home bronze both times

Please join us at Arnold Anderson Stadium on August 27th to congratulate and celebrate Erika and Team Canada's achievement!  Advance tickets are now available at brantfordredsox.com/tickets
