More Managerial Success For Thorman

by Bryan Young

Congratulations to Brantford Red Sox alumnus Scott Thorman, who managed the Wilmington Blue Rocks to their first Carolina League Championship in two decades. The Blue Rocks are the Kansas City Royals' Advanced A affiliate. Thorman has enjoyed great success in the Royals organization as a coach and manager since 2014.  Last year the Thorman-led Lexington Legends won their first ever South Atlantic League championship.  And this fall Thorman will manage Royals and other top MLB prospects  on the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.

Thorman, a native of  Cambridge Ontario, played two years of Major League Baseball with the Atlanta Braves in 2006 and 2007.  He was a key part of the Brantford Red Sox 2012 and 2013 Intercounty Baseball League championship teams, and won the 2012 IBL playoff MVP award.
