RED SOX ADD TO INFIELD WITH SIGNING OF MAX SCHMARDER

RANTFORD, ON - The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball
League , are proud to announce the signing of import infielder Max Schmarder (Buffalo ,
NY)

Schmarder just finished his senior year at Tusculum University, where he hit .309 (51-
165), with 10 2B’s, 3HR’s, 33 RBI’s and 3 SB’s.

Max is an excellent defensive third baseman, who can also play first base and the outfield.

Tusculum has been playing baseball since 1900, and Max broke the all-time 125-year Tusculum school record this season by hitting safely in 29 straight games.

This was a tremendous achievement and is amazing for any college player in the country to accomplish.

Before transferring to Tusculum, Schmarder spent two years at Monroe Community College.

“Max will be a tough out in the IBL. He puts balls in play, he had a .368 OB% and
uses all fields. I think his skills will transfer over to wood bat very easily as we look
forward to his positive attitude and team approach to playing baseball” Said GM Jeff
Lounsbury
