Red Sox Bolster Rotation with Signing of Connor Irvine

BRANTFORD, ON – The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL), are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher Connor Irvine from Victoria, British Columbia.

Irvine is currently a senior at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he holds a 5-4 record with a 4.82 ERA, 48 strikeouts, and 61.2 innings pitched this season. Over his previous two seasons at Monticello, he compiled a 16-7 record with 187 strikeouts in 182.2 innings. Prior to that, he played two years at Lassen Community College, posting a 9-4 record and 130 strikeouts over 118.1 innings.

“Connor is a big, strong kid who’s been a durable and consistent starter throughout five years of university ball,” said Red Sox GM Jeff Lounsbury. “He’s got a four-pitch mix and can throw strikes in any count. He’s mature, competitive, and brings that bulldog mentality to the mound. He’ll be a perfect fit with our club.”
