Red Sox Bring Baseball and Fun to St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School

The Brantford Red Sox spent part of their day giving back to the community with a special visit to St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School, where students had the opportunity to meet players, learn more about the game of baseball, and take part in some exciting activities.

Representing the Red Sox were players Nick Iannantone, Jakob Cantor, Tim Holyk, Walker Hultgren, and Lucas Lefebvre, along with Red Sox in-game host Bryanna. The group was welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd of students eager to learn more about the players and their experiences both on and off the field.

The visit began with player introductions, giving students the chance to get to know each member of the group and hear about their baseball journeys. Bryanna then led a question-and-answer session with the players, asking about their favourite baseball memories, what it takes to compete at a high level, and what inspired them to pursue the sport.

Following Bryanna's questions, students had the opportunity to ask questions of their own. The players shared stories about their experiences in baseball, offered advice about hard work and perseverance, and encouraged students to stay active and pursue their goals both in sports and in the classroom.

One of the highlights of the visit was a throwing challenge featuring ten student participants. Using a radar gun, each student tested their arm strength in front of their classmates. The competition brought plenty of excitement, with one student emerging victorious after recording an impressive throw of 49 miles per hour. For their efforts, the winner received four tickets to an upcoming Brantford Red Sox game.

The event concluded with an autograph session, where students had the chance to meet the players one-on-one, collect signatures, and take home a memorable keepsake from the visit.
