Red Sox Enter Final Week Of Regular Season

As the 2019 Intercounty Baseball League season enters its final week, the postseason picture starts to become clearer.  The IBL postseason format consists of three playoff rounds, with all eight teams in the league making the playoffs. All rounds will be a best of seven series.  

What is known: The Brantford Red Sox will finish in 8th place, and will face the 1st place team in the opening round Quarterfinals.  

What is unknown: Who Brantford's opponent will be.  As of today (Monday July 29) the Kitchener Panthers and Barrie Baycats are tied atop the standings with identical 23-10 records, and each team has 3 games remaining. 

Brantford will play a key role in who they face in the opening round, as they are they opponent for two of Barrie's remaining games and one of Kitchener's. 

The playoff schedule will be announced once the final standings are locked in.  However, with the annual Kinsmen Ribfest occupying Brantford's Cockshutt Park from Friday August 9 to Sunday August 11 the Red Sox will be unable to host any home games that weekend. 

Brantford's schedule for the final week of the regular season:

• Tuesday July 30 - hosting the Barrie Baycats, game time is 8 pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium in Brantford
• Thursday August 1 - at Barrie Baycats, game time 7:30 pm at Coates Stadium in Barrie
• Friday August 2 - hosting the London Majors, game time is 8 pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium in Brantford
• Saturday August 3 - at London Majors, game time is 7:34 pm at Labatt Park in London
