Red Sox Look Ahead to Month Two

by B. Young

BRANTFORD - The Brantford Red Sox turned the page on the first month of the Intercounty Baseball League calendar still searching for their first win. In addition to missing players, the team's struggle to find its footing has been hampered by an erratic schedule. Weather kept the Sox off the field in 3 of their last 5 scheduled games, and rainouts now account for 25% of the team's schedule.

The good news is that there is still much baseball left to play in this expanded 42 game IBL regular season. Regular, consistent play should benefit Brantford - and they'll have their chance in the week ahead with 4 games in 5 days:

  • Tuesday at Hamilton Cardinals 7:35 pm, Bernie Arbour Stadium
  • Thursday at Welland Jackfish 7:30 pm, Welland Stadium
  • Friday vs. Barrie Baycats 8 pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium - Forbes Renovations Night. Forbes Renovations will have a special treat for the first 200 Dads at the gate in honour of Father’s Day weekend! They will also be doing a grand prize giveaway including a drill/impact combo kit.
  • Saturday vs. Welland Jackfish 8 pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium
