Red Sox Set For Home Opener On Sunday

As the Brantford Red Sox prepare for their Intercounty Baseball League home opener on Sunday, optimism abounds.

Brantford is coming off a season-opening 11-7 road win last weekend against the Toronto Maple Leafs. So, fans going to Sunday’s 2 p.m. game against the Welland Jackfish in Cockshutt Park at Arnold Anderson Stadium should be excited.

Field manager Kevin Hussey says the fans can expect a solid effort every game.

“I just know that the players that we end up going with are going to be tough, hard-working, good kids,” said Hussey.

“I’ve been in the league seven years now and it’s a lot more fun to have guys that play hard and want to be there. That’s what our team is going to be."
