Bad Inning Sinks Sox Again

On Saturday Brantford headed down the 401 to meet up with the league-leading London Majors.  Brantford had only faced London once before this season, dropping their first encounter 7-2 to the Majors way back on July 14.

This game for the Red Sox followed a familiar pattern - Brantford scores a few runs early and plays a competitive game overall, but a bad inning makes the difference.  Brantford trailed London 4-2 up until the middle of the 4th inning, then the 'bad inning' struck.  Brantford gave up 5 runs on 5 hits in the bottom of the 4th and then trailed London 9-2. Sox would score 2 in an attempted 9th inning rally, but fell short. Final score London Majors 10 Brantford Red Sox 4.

Gianfranco Morello led Brantford with 2 hits and an RBI. Gabe Bruder pitched solid relief for Brantford, surrendering only 1 unearned run in 3.2 innings of work.

Brantford wraps up the weekend with a Sunday afternoon game in Toronto at Christie Pits vs. the Maple Leafs.
