Red Sox Wrap Up Long Week
The Brantford Red Sox wrapped up a full weekend of road baseball, and the first half of the IBL season on Sunday afternoon with a visit to Christie Pits to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Brantford's roster was tired and depleted after playing an inordinate amount of games this past week (5 in 6 days), and it showed early on. Toronto batted around in the 1st, including a grand slam, and led 7-1 after one inning at the hitter-friendly confines of the Christie Pits. Brantford would chip away, but fell short in a 12-4 final score.
After a couple well-deserved days off the Brantford Red Sox kick off the second half of their season with a 4 game home stand:
- Wednesday August 11 vs. Kitchener Panthers, 8pm - We welcome the Kitchener Panthers 12 U AAA team to the ballpark after their game earlier in the day at Cockshutt Park
- Friday August 13 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, 8pm - Country Night at the ballpark! Wear your best country attire for a chance to win a prize pack
- Saturday August 14 vs. London Majors, 2pm - Brantford Minor Baseball Day. BMBA players wearing their jersey get in free, and have a chance to throw out the first pitch. This is also our last day game in the regular season
- Wednesday August 18 vs. London Majors, 8pm
