Scott Thorman Wins Player Development Award

Congratulations to Brantford Red Sox alumnus Scott Thorman, who recently received the the Dick Howser Award from the Kansas City Royals organization.  This award recognizes the Royals organization’s most outstanding player development person. Last year Thorman led the Lexington Legends, the Royals' Class A affiliate, to their first ever South Atlantic League championship.  He was promoted this season to Manager of the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Royals' Advanced A affiliate. 

Thorman, a native of  Cambridge Ontario, played two years of Major League Baseball with the Atlanta Braves in 2006 and 2007.  He was a key part of the Brantford Red Sox 2012 and 2013 Intercounty Baseball League championship teams, and won the 2012 playoff MVP award.
