Sox Enter Final Weekend Of Regular Season

The Brantford Red Sox enter the final weekend of the Intercounty Baseball League regular season still waiting to see how their playoff picture will play out.

Brantford knows they will face the league’s first place team in the playoffs opening round. As of today, the Barrie Baycats sit atop the IBL standings. However, the Kitchener Panthers are 2 games behind with 2 games still to play (Friday night vs. Brantford, and Saturday vs. Guelph). If the Panthers win both games they will finish tied with the Baycats for 1st place overall, and league rules dictate the two teams would then play a one game playoff to determine the IBL pennant winner and first overall seed. 

Brantford wraps up their regular season with a home game Friday August 2 hosting the Kitchener Panthers, 8 pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium. Final game of the regular season is Saturday August 3 visiting the London Majors, 7:35 pm at Labatt Park.
