Sox In The Home Stretch

by B. Young

The Brantford Red Sox enter the final week of the 2021 Intercounty Baseball League season surging, having won 5 of their last 6 games. There is still much to be determined in last week of the IBL season, with only the London Majors assured of finishing 1st place (and a bye in the first round of the playoffs). Just 4 wins currently separate the remainder of the league from 2nd to 7th place.

The last week of Brantford's schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday September 1 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, 8pm at Arnold Anderson Stadium
  • Thursday September 2 at Barrie Baycats, 7:30pm at Coates Stadium
  • Friday September 3 at London Majors, 7:35pm at Labatt Park
  • Sunday September 5 at Toronto Maple Leafs, 2pm at Christie Pits

Wednesday is our last home game of the 2021 IBL regular season. Brantford, you'll want to be at the ballpark to make some noise for your boys and cheer them on into the postseason!  Brantford's Piston Pushers, Canada's oldest, biggest, fastest car club will be on hand showing their classic cars before the game. It's also Red Socks Night at the ballpark - wear your red socks to the game and get entered to win a picnic prize pack - a tote with utensils, supplies, and even a blanket!

Advance tickets for Wednesday night's game are available at brantfordredsox.com/tickets. Postseason ticket information will be announced later this week.  (Please note: Wednesday night is your last chance to use up any unredeemed SeatGiant tickets from previous games before the playoffs)

The Brantford Red Sox were founded in 1911 and have won 15 Intercounty Baseball League titles.
