Brantford Red Sox Re-Sign Gianfranco Morello

The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, are happy to announce that Gianfranco Morello will be returning for the 2021 season!

A native of Toronto, Morello is a graduate of the University of Charleston where he is the all-time leader in stolen bases and doubles, and ranks in the all-time top five in school history in hits, runs, RBI, and triples. In 2019 Morello played in the World Port Tournament in the Netherlands for Team USA as starting second basemen and leadoff hitter.

Morello made his IBL debut with the Brantford Red Sox in 2019.  In 85 plate appearances over 19 regular season games he  ranked near the top of Brantford batters with a .243/.341/.419 slash line, 14 runs scored, and 7 stolen bases.  Morello also provided solid defence as Brantford's primary second baseman, and showcased his versatility by playing in the outfield and other positions when called upon.  He was named IBL Player of the Week for July 29-August 4 2019.
