The Brantford Red Sox are seeking host families for the upcoming season. The Red Sox host college and international players during the Intercounty Baseball League season, which runs from May until August. Visiting players in the league are billeted with local families for the time they are here playing.
Host families offer a place to live and provide a positive environment for visiting ball players. Billeting provides an opportunity for both the player and family to experience a summer together, create friendships, and provide insight into the life of a ballplayer and a connection to the team. You'll find that visiting players become part of the family, and who can't use an extra pair of hands to help out around the house in the summer?
Host families receive
- $500 to cover expenses for the season, plus help with household staples for the visiting players
- A pair of tickets to every Brantford Red Sox home game
- On-field recognition prior to a Red Sox home game with the opportunity to throw out the first pitch
- Seats for each family member to attend the team’s year end dinner
What our players need:
- Their own room (unless you are willing to host more than one player as roommates)
- Their own bathroom (if possible)
- Access to a kitchen and laundry facilities
