Late Inning Struggles Cost Red Sox in 14–8 Loss to Toronto

BRANTFORD- June 10th, 2025 – A back-and-forth game slipped away in the ninth as the Brantford Red Sox fell 14–8 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Despite strong offensive efforts from the Sox, an eight-run top of the ninth by Toronto proved to be the difference. Brantford held the Leafs close throughout the night, but the late inning saw a mix of defensive miscues and free passes that allowed Toronto to capitalize with just two hits in the frame.

Brody Black gave the home crowd something to cheer about with a three-run homer, his biggest swing of the season so far. Matt Torresan continued to be a steady presence at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in two runs. Lucas Bateman also chipped in with a clutch two-run double.

On the mound, Aidan Armitage turned in a solid four-inning start, allowing three runs while striking out three. Colby Klepper was tagged with the loss in relief.

Brantford now sits at 1–10 on the season and will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they continue to battle through the IBL season.
